2022 Toyota Avalon

The new Toyota Avalon ensures plenty of power thanks to two V6 engine options. Fitting in as the base engine is a brawny 3.5-liter V6 that features 301 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. The base engine is solely available with front-wheel drive. If all-wheel drive is a necessity, then you can jump to the available 2.5-liter inline-4 engine (205 horsepower/185 pound-feet of torque), which features standard all-wheel drive. Both engine options pair to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The new Toyota Avalon ensures connectedness thanks to a versatile set of standard and available tech features. The base XLE trim comes equipped with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment display, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, an 8-speaker audio system, and 4 USB ports. It's probably no surprise that if you're after more tech, you just have to opt for a higher trim. Stepping to the Limited trim, for instance, ensures a JBL premium audio system, a navigation system, and the same 9-inch touchscreen infotainment display. The Top-level Touring trim is the only more amply equipped version of the Avalon than the Limited. The Touring trim includes a Premium JBL audio system, a head-up display, and a navigation system.

The Toyota Avalon touts plenty of interior comfort and convenience offerings across its six-trim lineup. The base XLE trim comes equipped with dual-zone automatic climate control 8-way power adjustable front seats, push-button start, Softex leather upholstery, and rear-seat air vents. The XSE adds a few creature comforts, like a power moonroof and paddle shifters. The XSE Nightshade changes things up by adding in a darkened aesthetics. The Limited trim includes perforated leather upholstery, heated/ventilated front seats, and genuine wood interior trim. The TRD trim is primarily a performance-oriented trim, however; it also comes with a few interior offerings; TRD interior aesthetic.

Exterior features include useful driver assistance offerings along with various exterior aesthetic options. The Toyota Avalon Nightshade features a darkened aesthetic, which includes a black grille, mirror caps, a rear spoiler, and name badges The TRD also gets a few exterior tweaks, including a track-tuned suspension, lowered ride height, a performance exhaust, and TRD exterior trim. In the driver assistance realm, the Toyota Avalon offers up a standard package (Toyota Safety Sense). The Toyota Safety Sense package includes collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure alert, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam assist. The Avalon also includes a few available driver assistance upgrades, including blind-spot monitoring and intelligent clearance sonar.
